Signs of a failing injection pump can be identified if the engine is miss firing, wont idle properly, poor starting, lack of power or excessive black smoke for the exhaust. When replacing the Injection pump, it is important to change the fuel filters and blow out the fuel line to ensure there is nothing to contaminate the new injection pump.
